Director Darko Mitrevski brings to life one of Macedonia’s most treasured soccer stories. He throws in a good dose of love during wartime for good measure.
In the turbulent times of the second World War, a soccer team from the then unrecognised nation of Macedonia is in the running for the champion title. They are led by a Jewish coach whose kinsmen were being exterminated by the Nazis as the championship was taking place. The drama picks up even more pace with the star player falling for rich Jewish beauty Rebeka.
Always a source of drama and great stories, here soccer becomes more than a game, it becomes the battlefield for the struggle between good and evil.
