{"id":982,"date":"2016-03-13T11:00:48","date_gmt":"2016-03-13T00:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euraw.com.au\/staging\/3790\/?p=982"},"modified":"2026-01-26T22:18:55","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T11:18:55","slug":"meet-the-artist-clara-voda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euraw.com.au\/staging\/3790\/meet-the-artist-clara-voda\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Artist &#8211; Clara Voda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We couldn&#8217;t wait to tell you about our very special guest at the\u00a0March screening. \u00a0The marvelous Clara Voda, who played Nicole in <a href=\"http:\/\/euraw.com.au\/program-2016\/march-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Domestic (Romania 2013)<\/a>, will be joining us for a Q&amp;A session after the screening on the 19th of March.<\/p>\n<p>Some of her film credits include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;<em>The Death of Mister Lazarescu&#8217;, <\/em>awarded Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival 2008<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;<em>If I Want To Whistle I Whistle&#8217;, <\/em>which won the Berlin Silver Bear and scored a\u00a0European Academy Award nomination in 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She is a key representative of the new wave of Romanian cinema and was awarded\u00a0<em>Best Actress in Romania <\/em>several times, including in 2015 (UCIN Award for Best Actress).<\/p>\n<p>As well as an impressive list of film credits, Clara also has extensive experience as a theatre actor. She performed in theatres around the world, including for Australian audiences during the Canberra Theatre Festival in 2000.
